The importance of clicking "Like"
You've probably heard me ask you to click like, comment, share, and engage with Chester County Futures all over social media. I ask this often and there's a pretty big reason for it.
Unless I "boost" a post, it's not really seen- Facebook's set up for organizations is different than it is for an individual. They'd like organizations to pay to be seen. The way to "beat the system" is to game the algorithm which is done by getting a group of followers (you!) to start liking, commenting, and sharing regularly. Your engagement makes a difference.

Here is a chart showing our reach over the last
month. You'll see a spike right around the time the Harvest Dinner photos were
released, another spike in early November during the Enrichment Camp when we
tagged an area business and some of their employees were engaged, and when I
was holding #GivingTuesday focused meetings and made all the staff or meeting
attendees visit the page to see what was going on. The first "paid"
reach was when I spent $1 to see what it would look on the chart. The most recent
bump is a small amount of Facebook advertising- but you
can also see how it grows the organic reach.
It's not easy shouting into the internet void. But you'll notice when you
react to posts your friends are seeing them. So if we could just more people on
our team reacting, that could go pretty far!
